"In my role as Chief of Staff, I work alongside First Round Partner Bill Trenchard to evaluate new investment opportunities and support the exceptional founders in the First Round community."

What drives me in this work is the chance to go deep - to pull apart a market, pressure-test a thesis, and help a founder see around the next corner. I'm drawn to builders who combine rigorous thinking with real urgency, and First Round's model of putting those founders first is what brought me here.

Before joining First Round, Will was an Investment Analyst at Makena Capital, where he helped build the firm’s venture co-investment program and worked across late-stage venture, buyout, and fund investments. That experience gave him a broad perspective on the private markets landscape and sharpened his ability to evaluate companies across stages, sectors, and business models — a lens he now brings to early-stage investing at First Round.

A Bay Area native, Will graduated from Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business with a degree in finance.
